OPTIMIZATION OF THE ALGORITHM OF FALL IDENTIFICATION BASED ON ACCELEROMETER AND GYROSCOPE

Abstract

Fall is a common and significant cause of trauma in older adults, which often leads to disability and death. The purpose of this study is to develop, optimize and evaluate the effectiveness of the fall detection algorithm based on the sensory system of the smart-clock Hexiwear, consisting of a 3-axis accelerometer and a gyroscope. Part of the data was used to develop a fall detection algorithm, including the study of critical sensor values, and the rest of the data set was used to evaluate the sensitivity and specificity algorithm.
